31 Days of Christmas Lyrics, Day 10 (Christmas Is Here)

I miss Rudolph’s Razzle Dazzle Christmas with the Hoekstra clan… don’t ask why I’m in clown face. What happens at Razzle Dazzle STAYS at Razzle Dazzle…

10 days down, 21 to go… I’m currently in day 10 of my 20 day Rona lockdown… I mean, ISOLATION. While having no symptoms myself, I’ve been directly exposed (bearing no ill will to The Proofreader, for the record – she is only showing a slight cold as her symptom.) and have to stay isolated for almost 3 weeks. Very, very, v-e-r-y Grrrrrrrr…

So in the middle of the mess, we’re blessed. If we just take the time to look, that is.

I haven’t seen her face in a direct sort of way for 10 days, since she has to wear a mask and gloves around me. 2020 is the year we lost our faces.

So, Christmas is for me, as usual, a bit of a train wreck. It’s a tough season, always, and this year seems surreal and hazy. Into the middle of the mess comes a Christmas song that I actually want to hear and maybe even sing along with. Wonder of Wonders, Miracle of Miracles, to quote the tailor in Fiddler on the Roof.

So this song, “Christmas Is Here,” by JJ Heller, has become a gentle anthem for me, reminding me that there is joy and hope in this dark season. Advent is real, and it’s all about looking past the here and now, and preparing for the Light of Lights, the Hope of Nations, the One and Only Son, full of grace and truth. Let us adore Him, Lift up your voices. Amen and Amen,

I see the candles, glow in the windows
I hear the church bells starting to chime
Millions of snowflakes, falling from heaven
Turning the world, from grey to white
Even the hardest of hearts
Cannot deny the magic in the air

Let us adore Him
Lift up your voices
Sing it out loud
Sing it out clear
Christmas is here

Join in the chorus, sing to the baby
Sleeping beneath the stars that he made
Light in the darkness, hope for the hopeless
His love will never fade away
Heaven came down to earth
To bind our wounds, and wipe away our tears

Let us adore Him
Lift up your voices
Sing it out loud
Sing it out clear
Christmas is here

There is a longing in, the melody
I feel it every year
Let us adore him
Lift up your voices
Sing it out loud
Sing it out loud
Sing it out clear

Let us adore him
Lift up your voices
Sing it out loud
Sing it out clear
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
